For My Lord Has Told Me So

Filigree Bar Down

I'm leaving this land of trouble
And trial, going to a place I know,
Where a robe and crown await me,
For my Lord has told me so,
He has told me I'll be an angel,
In His precious word I know,
For my Lord has told me so.

He has told me to be ready.
When He calls me I must go.
I will go with Him to glory.
Yes, my Lord has told me so.

Soon I'll reach that glorious city.
Walk those golden streets I know.
Meet with all the saints in glory,
For my Lord has told me so.
Drinking from the crystal fountains,
Where living waters freely flow.
There to have life everlasting,
For my Lord has told me so.

There I'll feast on milk and honey.
See heaven's beauty all aglow.
Never thirst or hunger ever,
For my Lord has told me so,
Those golden stars I know are waiting.
I will climb them soon I know.
The temple doors are swinging open,
For my Lord has told me so.

I am longing for that moment
When He told us long ago
He would come in clouds of glory.
Yes, my Lord has told me so.
When I reach that inner sanctum,
Through the veil I'll surely go
To the throne to meet my Jesus,
For my Lord has told me so.
